It is difficult for us to give a straightforward answer to the question “What will it cost?”. Every site is different and some take a lot more time than others to construct. A simple site, with a simple navigation system, the same simple design and header for each page, and no ‘moving parts’ will obviously involve far less work than a site which includes a shop, a contact form, a flash animation, and a variety of different page designs and headers.
As a matter of fact, the thing which takes the most time when designing a website is tweaking the pages - each in turn - to ensure that they all work in all browsers and on all screen sizes. Perhaps that's why many website designers simply don’t bother... Caesar’s Grunt websites are designed to look good and operate efficiently on all screen sizes, from a big free-standing monitor down to a mobile phone. We also spend time making sure that they look equally attractive when printed.
As a small company we have fewer overheads than most, and being relatively new to the scene we are keen to prove our worth. Our aim is to produce top quality websites at an affordable price - in fact, it’s more than an aim; it’s our motto. The following information will give you a rough idea of what we charge, but for an exact figure you will need to get in touch.
Simple site
A simple site with up to five pages, which uses the same design and header for each page. It has a straightforward navigation system and no interactive features. The customer provides all artwork and the text.
From £300, depending on the complexity of the design.
Extra pages on a simple site - from £30 each.
Blog
A relatively simple site with a control panel enabling the site owner to add articles or diary entries in chronological order.
From £300, depending on the complexity of the design.
Forum
A website on which registered members can post messages and take part in discussions. The site owner has the ability to administrate the forum and edit contributions.
From £600, depending on the complexity of the design.
Content management system
A website with a complex control panel enabling the website owner to add text, create new pages, and generally update the website themselves without knowing any programming language.
From £1,000, depending on the complexity of the design.
Photo library or Art gallery
How long is a piece of string? A complex, unique, photo library can take weeks to construct, but a simple one, built around existing software, will be relatively straightforward.

Online shop
Again, this can take ages or forever to build, depending on the design. If you can find anyone who will build a shop for you for under £1,000 we’ll be surprised - but we’ll aim to undercut them!

Text is normally provided by the customer. Unless you ask us to edit your text we will only correct spelling mistakes, but if you are in any doubt about your literary abilities you can elect to have your work ‘tweaked’ and grammar-checked - not by some daft program but by a real, live, published author! Equally, if you don’t know what you want to say we can research and write your text from scratch. It is worth noting that clear, well-written text is absolutely essential if you want to optimise your site’s search engine ranking. Prices for editing and writing depend on the amount of text involved. Our hourly rate for this work is £20.
